1
In the far North West of England, the action of the earths movements over 400 million years ago has resulted in a tremendous landscape of mountains, valleys, waterfalls and lakes known today as the lake district.
2
A huge volcanic eruption created the high mountains and a later ice age shaped them, with glaciers leaving beautiful mountain tarns, gouging out spectacular valleys, and leaving the famous lakes we know today.
3
If you stay high up in the mountains at Coppermines Valley, Coniston, all of this wonderful landscape can be walked from the door.
